A third gay bar in San Francisco has decided to stop using facial recognition and ID scanning technology, following pressure from a local boycott campaign. The move comes just weeks after two other well-known venues, Badlands and Toad Hall, made similar changes.

The bar, which has not been named in the initial reports, said it would pause the use of the technology while it reviews privacy concerns raised by patrons and community groups. The decision follows an organized effort by activists who argue that the digital identity checks disproportionately affect transgender people, people of color, and those without standard government IDs.
