Marvell Technology Group Ltd. saw its stock price jump more than 27% on Tuesday after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang suggested the chipmaker could eventually become a trillion-dollar company. The bold prediction sent shares to new highs, building on momentum from a strong earnings report released just days earlier.
Huang made the comments during a public appearance, praising Marvell's role in the rapidly expanding data infrastructure and artificial intelligence markets. He described the company as well-positioned to benefit from the growing demand for custom silicon and networking chips that power AI data centers. His statement that Marvell could be the "next trillion-dollar company" caught the attention of investors and analysts alike.
The surge added billions to Marvell's market capitalization, which had already climbed following the company's latest quarterly results. Those results beat Wall Street estimates, driven by strong sales in its data center and AI-related segments. The company has been gaining ground as a key supplier of chips used in cloud computing, 5G infrastructure, and high-speed networking.
While a trillion-dollar valuation remains a long-term target, the market response shows how closely investors are watching the AI chip sector. Marvell's recent performance and Huang's endorsement have placed the company firmly in the spotlight as one of the major players in the next wave of technology growth.
